Senior Data Analyst
Position Summary
The Senior Data Analyst will primarily be responsible for data quality in Epividian’s clinical reporting and observational databases, with a focus on data exploration, data cleaning, and data presentation. This individual will use their strong SQL skills and proprietary data management tools to ensure the ETL processes are converting, classifying, and cleaning the patient data properly. This person will support the marketing analysts, clinical analysts, and epidemiologists by researching their data questions and maintaining the data dictionaries.
This is a customer-facing role that will require the analyst to work directly with our clients to analyze business needs, develop reporting requirements, and help implement quality solutions. The Senior Data Analyst will research and troubleshoot data issues reported by users, developers and quality assurance. This individual will also collect requirements and develop queries and reports.
The Senior Data Analyst position will have exposure to many technologies and IT concepts, including Healthcare IT, data warehousing, data analytics, database development, ETL, reporting, and web technologies. The analyst needs to be a self-starter and a motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere while delivering complete and quality solutions.
Principal Responsibilities
- Create technical specifications and design, develop, test, and support optimal solutions to support Epividian’s mission to advance medicine and improve patient outcomes
- Design and develop SQL stored procedures, functions, and views
- Perform problem assessment, resolution, and documentation
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Test and debug solutions to ensure they meet quality standards
- Analyze the impact of change requests
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries while consulting with clinical analysts to ensure that Epividian data concepts are properly classified and mapped to incoming EHR data flows
- Support internal and external customer queries on data concepts and reporting results
Required Skills
- BA/BS degree, preferably in information technology
- 5 or more years of IT experience with a focus on data management and analysis
- Expert knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data queries, and reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly Desired Skills
- Healthcare Information Technology experience
- Epidemiology concepts and process standards
- Experience within an Agile Framework and methodologies
- Proficient in the Microsoft Development Environment to include:

Senior Data Integration Programmer/Analyst
Position Summary
The Senior Data Integration Programmer/Analyst will be the subject matter expert in the continually evolving data models of Electronic Health Record (EHR), Practice Management, Pharmacy, and other data collection systems in use at our client sites, developing extraction logic and integrating the data from the disparate systems into the Epividian common data model.
This is a customer facing role in that the analyst will be expected to work with our clients’ IT groups and clinical leads to develop the integration file formats and methods that work best with the source systems and our clients’ workflow processes, and that will provide the necessary information to support client reporting and Epividian studies.
The analyst must be able to research new and complex data models and make sense of the medical data being documented. The analyst will be expected to be able to research data issues found within the Epividian data model, trace those issues back to the customer source systems, and determine if and how the integration would need to change to correct the identified issues. The analyst will use their strong SQL skills and Epividian’s proprietary data management tools to ensure that the ETL processes are converting, classifying, and transforming the patient data properly, and will develop new methods of standardizing the data received from the disparate source systems.
Epividian is a small startup and, as such, the analyst will be exposed to many technologies and IT concepts including database development, ETL development, business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, and business intelligence.
The analyst must be a motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere while delivering complete and quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, tune and maintain SSIS packages to perform the ETL process.
- Design and develop SQL server stored procedures, functions, and views to be used during the ETL process.
- Create ETL technical specifications and design, develop, test, and support optimal data solutions.
- Document ETL data mappings, data dictionaries, processes, programs and solutions as per established standards for data governance.
- Perform problem assessments, resolutions, and documentation for existing ETL packages, mappings and workflows in production.
- Performance tune the ETL process and SQL queries and recommend and implement ETL and query tuning techniques.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of relational databases, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, and SQL.
- 3 or more years of Healthcare IT, specifically in data integration and analysis.
- 5 0r more years of IT experience with a focus on data integration, data management, and analysis.
- BA/BS degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
